When you run the iDiary for the first time on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you will be prompted to set up a password. Please keep the password safe because you will need it when logging into the application later.

On the Monthly Calendar view, a green dot above a date indicates that you have saved a journal for that day. Click on the date, a preview of your diary will appear on the bottom of the screen. Double tap the date to mark it with colors. Press the ‘+’ button to add a new entry and enter the Editing view. You can also easily navigate to the previous and next months, go to a specific date, or return to ‘today’. Use the search view to browse all your journals in a list. You can also enable or disable the auto correction, log-in screen, sort order, and other settings. Journals will be automatically saved if the auto-save option is on. The exported journals are sorted by creation or date order. Photo will be attached when exporting in the journal editor. Click URL links in iDiary:// format in emails and other apps will import the text into iDiary.

If the encrypted journal was altered without authorization, or the database is damaged, iDiary will display the following message: “Corrupted data!”.

Use any web browser to backup/restore iDiarys data on/from your PC/Mac through HTTP protocol (requires Wi-fi network connection). Backup database can be transferred to other iPhone devices, and entries are encrypted.

Pros and cons of iDiary - a diary with calendar, encryption, photo & voice journals app for iPhone and iPad

iDiary - a diary with calendar, encryption, photo & voice journals app good for

I downloaded this app a few days ago, and thought the interface and ease of use was pretty damn good for the price. Not to mention the secure password requirement made it that much better, and makes total sense in case someone picks up your phone and decides to read all the bad things you write! The only thing I didnt like was the lack of a spell-checker, WHICH was part of todays update. Thank you very much! The only thing I wish would change was the yucky yellow background you type on --- its just like the notes application. But hey, if it works, why knock a good thing. Thanks again. I appreciate the app very much!
Wow what an amazing app if youre in the market for a daily journel. I love the idea of looking just like the native iPhone calender app! Very easy to use...BUT, it absolutly stinks that it doesnt have the spell check option, I have big fingers and have learned to rely on the iPhone spell check. Please mr./ mrs. Developer for the next update either incorprate the spell check option or give us the ability to use this app in land scape mode, if either is done this would easily be a 5 star app!! SEPTEMBER 15...REVIEW UPDATED: when entering a long journal entry the key board hides the view of what you are writing....until the developer fixed this issue and installs spell check or landscape view, I would advise not to purchase this app. SEPTEMBER 19...REVISED UPDATE: The developer has addressed all the problems I mentioned above...spell check and the key board hiding the written text!!!! Thanks so much for the update this application is a 6 star out of 5 now.
i love diary apps and this one is awesome. i just wish they would make it so if you highlight a word you could change the colour of only that word. so people that created idiary PLEASE make this change in an update please!!!!!!!!!! then i would be five stars. p.s and maybe emoticons.. :)
I like this software, I tried a couple of others but this one Ive had little problem with. emailing the entries works to get the entries current with MacJournal which Ive used for quite awhile. When it first came out it was the best of the field and everytime they update it they add features that make it more usable & personal. Thank you.
All good but a geo-tagging option is needet. That would make this app the perfect travel diary, too.
I love this especially because it is encryted. But there is one feature I would love to see, a feature that the non encryted Secret Diary has. And that is a lock feature for when you are in the program. I would like this because if I shut off my Touch then power back on Im opened up right back into the unprotected diary. This would be if I suddenly powered off and didnt get a chance to cancel out the program. So would u please make the diary auto encrypt if u shut the power off without rembering to shut iDisry down. That is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars. Thanks!

Some bad moments

I have to say it is a good idea to put so many features together to a simple app. But it works not good. The pic is always lay there as background. I hate that. I want insert pic to the journal. Plus there is no way to sync to my MacBook. Frankly I do not like export to email. Anyway looking forwards to big update if it is possible
I have been useing this app for 2.5 months i got very comfortable useing it, one day it just decided my passward was no longer valid. I had to kiss my $6.99 good bye. I have been trying to get through to the company so far no luck maybe they have gone in permenent vacation !!
Underperforming. Have asked Apple for a refund but so far have gotten nowhere. Try Momento or pretty much any other journal before paying big bucks for this. Youve been warned. [email protected] there is one good thing I can say about this story: just heard back from the iTunes store and they have refunded my $.
If you ever forget your password, there goes all your memories, and notes you have written down. So whats the point in using this app when theres no option for "forgotten password" reset!!!
When going back and forth reading the entries I created the screen goes dim and application locks up. Need to close and reopen. This happens randomly.
I can’t get into settings, delete an entry or email without the app freezing. Did all updates using current 1.6.1.1 version. As I can’t back it up or email I’m faced with backing up manually every day for the past few months. Triple Creeks Studio has caused hours of manual backup time for me. I need my info with backup capability and sorry I depended on this app. What they promise they don’t deliver. If I remove & add iDiary ALL info is lost. No development written in app to back up your info on an authorized computer to iTunes. I’ll have to choose another app this is REAL poor. Click “App Support” in iTunes and you get a text website with NO support link or any link for that matter a product list page that’s it. No links anywhere on the website and of course ZERO option for a support link. Triple Creeks is a minimalist developer to the detriment of iTunes and iTunes customers.
